Who are we?

Foundation Luister (Dutch for “Listen”) has been established in 2019 with the aim to provide a stage, a platform, a hub. For those in our society who feel unheard. People with visions, ideas or practical methodologies which are not highlighted in the mainstream media. Those which are ignored out of disinterest or even social taboo. Or banned by politically correct media makers, who bow to the censorship of those in power or the opinions of their bubble. The latter sometimes even in a hidden way via the so-called policy rules of Facebook, Twitter and other social media channels.

Foundation Luister will therefore periodically offer different groups a stage to let other sounds be heard. Diffused opinions, unwelcome facts, abrasive analyzes and questionable sounds. Foundation Luister explicitly states that not all these sounds have its consent. Furthermore, it must be stressed that the board therefore does not take any responsibility for this.

Nevertheless, Foundation Luister attaches great importance to the open social debate as guaranteed in our Constitution and in Human Rights. Sometimes with sympathy for those we offer a podium. However, sometimes in the tradition of Voltaire: “I wholly disapprove of what you say – and will defend to the death your right to say it.” And all this to question, consider, and if necessary renew the “Contrat social” between citizens on the one hand and an increasingly centralized government on the other.
